16 hurt in school bus accident and friends remember former Blazer Torrey Ward

Greetings from the desk of Jonathan Hardison! I hope you're having a good night tonight. We've got several developing stories we're following tonight.

School bus accident

Starting with a school bus accident in Pickens County where the driver is in critical condition and 14 students were hurt, including some taken to Children's of Alabama for treatment tonight. We've got a crew on the scene (@Fox6Kelvin) as well as back here monitoring their conditions and the investigation into what caused the crash near Highway 82 in the Reform/Ethelsville area.

Vigil for fallen Blazer

New tonight family and friends of former UAB star Torrey Ward gathered at the old Phillips High School gym to remember his life and legacy of both a playing and coaching career cut tragically short by the plane crash Monday night.

City hall fight

And what in the world is going on in the city of Lipscomb? The mayor is in jail tonight after getting in a fight with the city's police chief. That mayor says all city employees are on leave until further notice because he and the city council have issues to work through, but the city clerk says that's not true and everyone's still on the job. We're working to get some clarity from the city attorney and hope to have that for you on our Fox6 News app in the next hour and certainly live starting on Fox6 News at 9.
