Police report more spice overdoses and we look at walking trail safety

Good afternoon from the desk of Janet Hall. Here are the stories we're working on for FOX6 News this evening.

Tuscaloosa spice crackdown

Narcotics agents are cracking down on the use of synthetic marijuana which is growing at an alarming rate. The use of spice has led to dozens of overdoses and at least one death. It's a dangerous trend and we'll take a closer look on FOX6 News at 6.

Distracted driving alert

Law enforcement is giving fair warning to anyone who is texting, dialing or doing anything while they are driving that distracts their attention from the road. A nationwide crackdown on distracted driving begins tomorrow. If you are texting behind the wheel they have one word for you. Stop. We'll have more on the "U-drive, U-text, U-pay" campaign.

Walking trail safety

Mountain Brook Police released a sketch of a man who mugged a group of girls on a popular walking trail. We'll take a look at the investigation and at ways you can protect yourself.
