From Jonathan Hardison in the FOX6 Newsroom:
If you made it safely to and from work, school or home today, it feels like you were in the minority. We had sections of I-59 North shutdown all afternoon because of a 24-vehicle pile up followed by another accident involving 2 trucks trying to get past that traffic blockage and even an SUV into a building in Birmingham today. Christy Hutchings is along I-59 tonight to update road conditions and give us some idea of what may have caused all of these traffic problems that persist into the night. You can follow her @Fox6Christy for new info between now and FOX6 News at 9.
You may also wanna click on Erika Gonzalez's Twitter feed @erikagonzaleztv - she's covering a public hearing where Hoover residents in the Russet Woods/South Shades Crest Road area are worried about a proposed new shopping center they say doesn't fit the neighborhood and could cause major traffic headaches once it's open.
We've got all that and J-P's back on the ground from flying our cameras over the traffic haze today with a look at why this week may see a string of unsettled weather days.
