Family speaks out after toddler struck by car and we're watching possible severe weather

Good afternoon from the desk of Janet Hall. Here are the stories we're working on for FOX6 News this evening.

Toddler killed

A 3-year-old boy was hit and killed by a car in a Birmingham neighborhood last night. The driver said he fled the scene after hearing gunfire but contacted police. No charges have been filed. We'll talk to the boy's family tonight on FOX6 News at 5.

Heads up for possible severe weather

The FOX6 StormWarn Team is keeping an eye on potential severe weather that's expected to roll into our area tonight and tomorrow. We'll have the latest on the forecast and what you can expect.

UAB supporters in Montgomery

Another group of UAB supporters are in Montgomery today lobbying lawmakers to back a bill that would give UAB more control of its destiny than it now has in The University of Alabama System. We'll have the latest.
