TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) - Attendance numbers at this year's Tuscaloosa Regional Air Show topped those from previous years, according to officials with the City of Tuscaloosa.
Tuscaloosa spokesperson Deidre Stalnaker said about 90,000 people viewed the air show on Saturday, with 65,000 inside the gates and 25,000 outside.
Stalnaker said Sunday's attendance was about 73,000 total, with 53,000 people inside the gates and 20,000 outside.
At one point during the show on Sunday, two smaller aircraft collided mid-air, but both were able to safely land. No one was hurt, but the show was delayed slightly.
Tuscaloosa previously hosted air shows in 2009, 2010 and 2012.
