Neighbor's sharp shooting stops burglary suspect in his tracks

Good evening from the desk of Jonathan Hardison! I hope you're having a good night. Here are some of the stories we're working on tonight:

Watts and Williams go toe-to-toe over UAB football

Every week seems to bring a new wrinkle in the #FreeUAB saga and today is no different. Rep. Jack Williams says he's got proof that UAB administrators had already made their decision about the fate of UAB football back in September andhad their communications strategy for how to break the news all mapped out. Rep. Williams again today called for UAB President Ray Watts to resign, to which Watts responded these accusations are "reckless and untrue." Tonight John Huddleston is talking to Rep. Williams and UAB supporters about Watts' explanation and Williams is live with Rick Karle for the entire sportscast tonight on FOX6 News at 9.

Love thy neighbor!

This morning, Tim Foster of Odenville (pictured) saw someone breaking into his neighbor's home so he went out to stop the guy. When the alleged burglar tries to get away, the neighbor says he shot out the getaway car's tires! Tonight on Fox6 News at 10 Christy Hutchings talks to the neighbor and the homeowner who's thankful for his quick thinking and sharp shooting.
