Birmingham prepares for presidential visit and Garrard case goes to the jury

President Obama visit

President Obama will be visiting Birmingham next week. The White House announced he will come to town Thursday and will deliver remarks on the economy. We'll have the full story on FOX6 News at 5.

Garrard murder case goes to jury

After hearing all the arguments, the jurors in the Joyce Garrard murder trial are now ready to begin deliberations. Garrard is the Etowah County woman accused of forcing her granddaughter to run until she collapsed and later died. We are following this case step by step. We'll let you know as soon as the jury reaches a verdict.

Unfolding details in teen murder

Two people are under arrest in connection with the murder of 17-year-old Alexis Marie Garcia of Birmingham. Her body was found yesterday in Blount County. We'll have the latest from investigators as they try to piece together what happened.
