KENOSHA, WI (WBRC) - Three suspects are now charged with capital murder of a man whose body was found in Blount County.
Matthew Thrasher, of Hayden, and Stephanie Underwood, of Hanceville, were initially caught shoplifting in Kenosha, Wisconsin but won't get jail time for that offense.
They are being extradited from Wisconsin to Alabama as suspects in the murder of 55-year-old David Hayes of Holly Pond in Cullman County.
Wisconsin officials found what they believed to be blood in the trunk of Hayes' car, which Underwood and Thrasher were driving in Wisconsin. When they ran the license tag for the car, they learned Hayes had been missing in Alabama since around Christmas.
Authorities discovered Hayes' body behind a cemetery in Buck Ridge on Pine Mountain in Blount County after Underwood and Thrasher were arrested.
Another man, Christopher Jones, is already charged with Hayes' murder. He's being held in the Blount County Jail.
According to court documents, Thrasher and Underwood admitted to being involved in Hayes' death.
Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey confirmed Friday that Thrasher, Underwood and Jones are each charged with capital murder in Hayes' death.
