MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The Buckmasters Expo is the largest hunting and outdoor expo in the South.

Besides helping out the vendors who attend, it's a big boost for the Capital City and the rest of the state due to the millions of dollars it brings in.

One business that sees a boost in revenue is Dreamland barbecue. Plenty of people that attend the expo visit Dreamland to pig out on some pulled pork and ribs.

"The people coming in for hunting expo, they want something fast and inexpensive so we are right up their alley," said Dreamland manager Stephanie Brosser. "We have been busy all weekend."

In fact managers say this weekend, thanks to Buckmasters, is one of their busiest all year, estimating a 20 to 30 percent increase in the number of customers who walk through the doors.

"It helps a lot," Brosser said. "Any boost helps and gives us that extra push."

"It has a great financial impact on the restaurant and servers," said Dreamland server Jenlisa Knight. "It's just awesome."

Organizers estimate that the three day weekend event has an economic impact of up to $8 million for the whole state, and just Montgomery alone sees a boost of $2 to $2.5 million.

"These people come in and they have to stay somewhere, and they

have to eat somewhere, and they spend money here too," said Buckmasters' President Lewis Figh.

What's even better is that the event doesn't just help the city financially, but it also gives a helping hand to local organizations. Admission to the expo is a donation of a canned food, which is given to nonprofit organizations like the Salvation Army.

The Buckmasters' Expo continues on Sunday. Doors open at 10 a.m. and things wrap up at 5p.m.
