JEH JEH LIVE - Jeh Jeh joined us from Briarwood Presbyterian Church for the 6th Annual Briarwood Flea Market. It runs today from 8am until 6pm and tomorrow from 8am until 1pm. It is run by and supports the Women's Ministry. It has raised over $100,000 to support urban ministries that serve the women and children of the city. The proceeds this year will benefit Foundations Early Learning & Family Center, located in Fairfield. The indoor/outdoor market has over 80 vendors set up in the church gym, lunchroom, and surrounding outside areas. Briarwood Presbyterian Church is located at I-459 and Acton Rd., up the hill from McDonald's. Once on campus, signs will direct you to the Flea Market. TAYLOR HICKS - The Schaeffer Eye Center CityFest is Saturday at Railroad Park! It features a phenomenal music lineup including the Grammy Award winning hip hop band, The Roots. And local favorites Taylor Hicks and Ruben Studdard take the stage. Taylor joined us with his band in the studio to talk about his career and the concert this weekend. He also performed live in the studio with his band. The event is free to the public but VIP tickets are $150 and can only be purchased in advance. VIP tickets include access to two stages, private restrooms, private bar with access to specialty beers, and specials at all food trucks. Activities get started at noon and music plays in the park from 2pm until 11pm. Several local food trucks will be on site as well as local BBQ and pizza from Papa John's Pizza. Concessions will be located around the park for purchase. No coolers or chairs are allowed at the event. Also, no professional cameras with detachable lenses are allowed. ZOO CREW - Kelly Garrison joined us from the Birmingham Zoo to introduce Mickey to a new animal. the Hedgehog. Strong muscles in the hedgehog's back allow it to curl into a ball, protecting the face and stomach with its spines pointed in many directions. The stiff spines covering their back are a form of protection. Enjoy $5 Fun Days on August 2nd and 3rd at the Zoo to take advantage of discounted admission!
