Guntersville cyclist in intensive care following hit-and-run

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Huntsville Hospital officials said the man hit by a car in Guntersville Tuesday is in intensive care, but in good condition.

Presume Mibias was riding his bike along Highway 431 when someone hit him.

Police said Robert Westmoreland was the man driving the Jeep that hit Mibias. Westmoreland faces one felony charge for leaving the scene of an accident.

Investigators said Westmoreland turned around and went back to the scene, only to drive off again. He was stopped in Albertville.

Westmoreland remains in the Guntersville City Jail awaiting bond.
