Former Gamecock Ace Sanders taking leave from Jacksonville Jaguars

JACKSONVILLE, FL (WIS) -

Former South Carolina Gamecock and current Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Ace Sanders will take a leave of absence from the team.

Sanders, drafted in 2013 by the Jaguars in the fourth round, is facing a four-game suspension from the National Football League for violating the league's substance abuse policy according to the Florida Times-Union.

"I am taking full responsibility for all my actions," Sanders said according to NFL.com. "I am sorry."

Reports have not exactly indicated what the nature of Sanders' offense was, but he told NFL.com he expects to miss most of training camp to deal with "personal issues."

"It's been a really, really tough road for me these past couple of months," Sanders said during a conference call, "and I've been dealing with a lot of stuff just with life and with family and a lot of issues going on."

Sanders finished his rookie campaign with 51 catches for 484 yards and a touchdown.
