GULF SHORES, AL (WBRC) -

The search has ended for a missing teenage swimmer in Gulf Shores.

The Gulf Shores Police Department posted to their Facebook page around 2 p.m. on Tuesday that the body of a missing teen had been found near East Gulf Place. They did not offer a positive identification but it is presumed to be that of Chaston Brown.

Brown, a 17-year-old from Louisiana, was last seen on Sunday.

Witnesses say Brown got caught in rough waters. Brown wasn't the only swimmer caught in the strong current. Rescuers said several distress calls from swimmers all came in at the same time, which prompted them to close the waters.

Gulf Shores Fire and Rescue searched the ocean on Sunday and a dive team searched the waters on Monday.

Police say they're keeping the teen's family in their thoughts as they continue the search.

"These calls are terrible to respond to but as far as just thinking of the family while we're out searching is part of it," Josh Coleman with Gulf Shores PD said.

Brown was on vacation with a group of his friends.
