Birmingham police investigate Sunday night homicide

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Birmingham police say a man has died after being shot in the leg in the city's northwest side on Sunday night.

North Precint officers got a call around 9:22 p.m. reporting a man had been shot in the 400 Block of 37th Ave West.

When officers got to the scene, they found the victim with a single gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken to UAB where he died.

Detectives are investigating the man's death as a homicide, Lt. Sean Edwards said.

The man's name is not being released pending notification of his family.

So far, no one has been arrested in the case. Check back with this story for updates.
