CENTER POINT, AL (WBRC) -

Jefferson County authorities say one person was killed and another injured in a shooting in Center Point.

Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies responded to a double shooting reported at a home in the 900 block of 21st Avenue Northwest around 6:30 a.m. on Monday.

Deputies found one man dead on the scene. The Jefferson County coroner's office confirms his identity as 40-year-old Agila Lee Flennory. He lived at the home where he was shot and killed.

Another man, possibly related to Flennory, was suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken to a hospital and is expected to recover.

Authorities have identified a suspect and taken that person into custody.

Neighbors say they don't know what sparked the shooting and they're very surprised that it happened.

"I knew both of them, and they were both good people. I don't see what the incident was over, it was just a spur of the moment thing and I just don't know what to say," Evander Williams said.
