(WMC) - The rain storm that swept through Memphis on Monday afternoon toppled a few trees. One of those trees, located on Springdale Street, took power lines with it when it fell and landed on a car.

It left family afraid for their loved ones lives.

"I just screamed. I just broke down, and started screaming, and panicking 'cause it was pouring down rain," family member Rhonda Quinn said. "When I saw the tree, I knew it was them, and I just panicked.

Witnesses and rescuers rushed to the scene to save the mother and son, who are expected to be OK.

A large tree also fell in the front yard of house, partially hitting a car at Butterworth Road and Rickard Road. No injuries were reported when that tree fell.
