SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Over at Fair Park on Tuesday, it was smiles as senior hoops star D'Angelo McClinton made things official with Southern of Shreveport.

SUSLA is a program known for preparing players for D-I basketball. Coach David Francis and the Jaguar staff were in the building along with family and his teammates.

It was a moment McClinton says many doubted would happen because of a small issue.

McClinton said, "I always had it in the back of my mind they told me all my life that I was little. I was little but as time goes on you don't care about your size anymore, my stats show what I can do.

Fair Park head coach Eddie Hamilton said, "Every night that might be considered to be a big game he shows up.  When we played Byrd this year Larry Brown was here to watch Chad Lott and D'Angelo went for 36 that night.  He loves those big stages and he loves to show people what he can do."
