LSU grad Beckham drafted earlier than expected

Odell Beckham Odell Beckham

The NFL draft brought the dramatics as it kicked off in Radio City Thursday night.

But one thing that was not expected was which of the 10 potential LSU picks would be the first name called.

That name was Odell Beckham, and he was picked 12th overall by the New York Giants.

It was an emotional moment for him, wiping away tears as he walked onto the state to accept his new jersey from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

Beckham will join his former teammate Ruben Randel in New York. He was projected to go around the top 10 or 12 spots.
