KSLA News 12 Editorial: April 30th-Weather Radios Save Lives

The past few days have been the busiest and most deadly of the tornado season so far this year.

Many have been killed including those in the small community of Mayflower, Arkansas. That's why we track storms. It was in the middle of the night when a tornado touched down north of Bossier City early Monday morning. When that was happening, Stormtracker Steve was live on the air issuing the warnings, telling people to take cover.

But if you're asleep, you're not watching T.V.

That's where weather radios are life savers. They automatically go off when you are in danger. KSLA News 12 has again teamed up with Midland Weather Radios and Academy Sports to make sure these radios are available in the ArkLaTex.

If you don't have one, now is the time to act. It can save your life. I'm James Smith.

Tonight at 11:59 p.m., KSLA's extended agreement with DirecTV will expire and they may drop this station from their lineup. We have been working hard to stay on their system, but they have simply refused to make a fair deal.
