CLAY, AL (WBRC) -

Habitat for Humanity is ready to build thirteen new homes in the Clay area.

The homes will be built in the Winchester Hills subdivision in Clay.

"You start with a slab and seven days later you have a home and you see the smiles on people's faces," Kyle Murphy, Home Builders Blitz Chairman, said. "These are people that without help would probably be renting for the next 15 years. But through Habitat they get the opportunity to do what eveybody wants to have, to be a homeowner."

Sponsors like Wells Fargo, Alabama Power and the Greater Birmingham Association of Homebuilders will make this ninth annual Home Builders Blitz possible.

"We are grateful to these builders and the subcontractors and suppliers who are backing this endeavor," said Charles Moore, President & CEO for Habitat Birmingham, in a press release.

The house dedication celebration is May 8, when homeowners will receive their keys and a Bible.
