Park Circle Comics holding comic book show on Saturday

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Park Circle Comics in North Charleston will be holding its comic book show Saturday.

The "Taking Flight Comic Book Show 5" will take place on May 10 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at The Sparrow on 1078 East Montague in the Park Circle business district.

Jerry Lahm of Park Circle Comics stopped by the Live 5 News Studios on Thursday to talk about the event.

"I am very excited! It's the fifth one we've done, and we've had a great time at each one," Lahm said."We do it in a music venue at The Sparrow in Park Circle. Instead of like the big regional shows that you see about on national news, we try to keep it more intimate."

According to Park Circle Comics, thousands of comics along with comic book artists are featured at the event. Additionally, Lahm said all the comic book artists collaborated together to create a comic about the show.

The event is free, but a suggested donation of $5 at the door is encouraged and will benefit the Wings for Kids charity.
