JEH JEH LIVE - The Neighborhood Health & Safety Awareness Day will be held on Saturday, May 3rd from 10am until 5pm at Gardendale's Frist Baptist Church. The event is to help you become aware of how to ensure that you and your family are safe and living a healthy life style. You can learn more about kids ID cards, CPR classes & First Aid safety, weather awareness, health education, fire Protection, and more. There will also be a blood drive with LifeSouth plus there will be inflatables for the kids, Cornhole, games, music, food trucks, fire trucks, the K-9 unit, variousvendors, and more.

AIR QUALITY AWARENESS - April 28 – May 2 is National Air Quality Awareness Week by the EPA.  The theme of this year's awareness week is "What's Your Air Quality IQ?"  The purpose of the week is to bring awareness on how air quality affects your health.  Jefferson County Health Department Meteorologist Matt Lacke joined us to discuss some of the major points of air pollution and how Birmingham ranks.

BETSY PRINCE BCRFA FUNDRAISER - The 9th Betsy Prince Charity Bazaar is Back to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama. It will be on Saturday, May 3 from 10am-3pm. Tickets are $10. or tickets available at the door. You can purchase donated new & gently used designer clothing, accessories, & shows from $5-$94. It features designer such as Fly London Johnny Was & Hinaya. It includes food from the Fish Market & Brio Tuscan Grille with complimentary beverages. CJ HARRIS ON IDOL - The American Idol top 6 contestants performed last week for your votes. They each performed a song picked by their fellow contestants. CAHABA-QUE - Nick Morris with the Cajun Cleaver joined us with details on the 2nd Annual Cahaba-Que BBQ Cook off. It will be Saturday from noon until 5pm at the Cahaba Brewing Company (2616 3rd Avenue South in Birmingham). This event benefits the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of AL (BCRFA). BCRFA specifically funds Breast Cancer Research at the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center. BCRFA has donated nearly $4.5 Million since 1996. This year 12 cook teams will prepare food and compete for  the "People's Choice Award" from Each Cook Team (such as BBQ Taco's, Meatballs and more). Tickets are $20 and includes a ticket for one point of Cahaba Brew for those that are 21 years old and up. There will be live local music and a Bounce House (unlimited access) for the children.
