The suspect in a violent Lakewood murder pleaded guilty on Tuesday.

Johnny Johnson, 57, will serve 15 years to life for killing Pamela Jo Friedl, 55, in her Lakewood home last year.

Friedl was reported missing by a friend in late August of 2013. On September 5, 2013, officers of the Lakewood Police Department found Friedl's decomposing body in the back of a bedroom closet in her Elbur Manor apartment.

According to court records, Johnson allegedly killed Friedl with a hammer. Records also show he hit her several times in the head and then cleaned the apartment after the violent crime.

Johnson blamed his drug use for the violent crime.
