The city of Tuscaloosa has begun a free, drop-off electronic recycling program for all those in west Alabama.
Electronics can be dropped off at the Richard A. Curry Environmental Services Complex located at 3340 Kauloosa Avenue Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Items will not be accepted after hours, on weekends, on city holidays or at drop-off recycling trailers or curbside recycling.

Desktop Computers
Laptops
Servers
Fax machines
Printers
Scanners
Copiers
LCD monitors
CRT monitors
Computer wires/cables
UPS battery back-up
Keyboards and mice
Docking stations
Cell phones and chargers
Inkjet cartridges and laser printer toner
Tablets and PDAs
Power Strips
Networking equipment switches, hubs, firewall, modems, computer boards
Rechargeable batteries
Microwaves
Electronics NOT accepted for recycling:
Televisions
Light bulbs
Alkaline Batteries (Non-Rechargeable Batteries)
X-Ray Machines
VHS, Cassette, 8mm tapes
Smoke detectors
Hazardous waste, garbage, trash or debris
When you arrive at the Curry building, park in the designated spot and enter the building to let the staff know what type of electronics you wish to recycle. The staff will then collect the items from your vehicle.
The staff asks that those with more than one carload of recyclables call them ahead of time at 205-248-5311 to schedule an appointment.
