The Northport Mayor and former employees confirm that an ambulance service covering the area has shut down.
Mayor Bobby Herndon says employees showed up for work this morning but at 10 a.m. they were told they no longer had jobs.
A former employee who spoke with FOX6 News says that the vice president of the company arrived at their office on Highway 43 and was seen cleaning out the building Monday morning. Employees say they were given no advance warnings and no reason why the business would suddenly close.
