Phyllis - Birmingham:
Texting is very dangerous, it ruins lives and it hurts people. And as a state, Alabama, I say that we all pray for our youth who think texting and driving is okay.
Valerie - Birmingham:
A couple years ago I had an accident. Had it not been for my daughter asking me to put on my seat belt, it could have killed me and maybe even worse for them. But I did. Now I get on them about texting while driving. Because it is so very dangerous. After I had done it and left the road for about 2-3 seconds, I realized it could have been somebody walking on the side of that road. So I think texting while driving is a bad, bad, bad idea.
I think that's a good thing what you just said about seatbelts and texting on the phone. Because there's a lot of folks who do that. Everywhere you go now they don't pay attention to the road, they pay attention to their phone. They're phone more important than the road. And then when they hit somebody they gonna say it wasn't my fault.
Rod - Birmingham:
We've become too preoccupied with our social media, cell phone or electronic devices and it's killing people. Young people as well as older people are infatuated with these devices.
