Five Bulldogs scored in double digits as Louisiana Tech (27-6) advanced to the Conference USA Championship by defeating Southern Miss (27-6), 88-70, on Friday night in El Paso.

The Bulldogs led by just six at the half but used a 16-5 run early in the second half to extend their lead for good. Southern Miss got as close as nine, but the Bulldogs continued to respond, ultimately winning by 18 points. LA Tech forced 21 turnovers and is now 22-0 when forcing at least 15 turnovers by an opponent.

"I am just so proud of our guys and it was a big win," head coach Michael White. "We have to now turn our attention to Tulsa, who is very good. We have our work cut out for us and it will be a long night watching film. If we rebound, defend and play as hard as we did today, we will have a chance. It was fun to watch."

LA Tech was led by Speedy Smith, who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points to go along with 10 assists. Alex Hamilton led the Bulldogs in scoring with 18 points. Jaron Johnson and Kenyon McNeail each added 15 points in the contest. Chris Anderson also scored in double-digits by totaling 13 points.
