KSLA News 12 Editorial: Mar. 9 - Severe Weather

James Smith James Smith

The ArkLaTex is one of the most volatile areas in the country for severe weather. That's just a fact.

Recently, we've experienced bone chilling cold temperatures and icy conditions. In the coming weeks the cold will subside and our spring storms will begin.

The fact is, severe weather can happen at anytime, anywhere. It's essential we all have a way to get severe weather warnings. That's why we have the KSLA mobile apps and email weather alerts that can be sent directly to your smart phone or computer. It's also why we encourage you to buy weather radios.

It's now Severe Weather Awareness Month in many of our communities. Stay informed, stay safe.

I'm James Smith.

State Police Supt. Col. Mike Edmonson needs to address this inexcusable behavior directly and restore the public's confidence. He should be fully transparent in his investigation into the matter and should invite an outside entity to look into the matter.
