The following is an editorial from FOX6 WBRC-TV General Manager Lou Kirchen, first aired on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014...
For those of you who remember the wonderful meanderings of Charles Kuralt or who have watched the fascinating storytelling of Absolutely Alabama's Fred Hunter…well, there's a semi-retired journalist in northeast Pennsylvania of the same ilk. Mike Stevens has traveled "On the Pennsylvania Road" for more than 30 years, telling wonderful stories about the people and places of that region.
On Mike's Facebook post of January 20, he says, "Seems a lot of awards going out this time of year, mostly in music and movies. That's okay i guess but seems an award for ordinary people is needed. Those who show up daily, who are good moms and dads, who are honest and pay their bills - they might like a little award. Truth be told, those are really the folks who don't expect anything just for doing the right thing." Mike Stevens…long on wisdom... Thank you, Mike.
