1 Montgomery student killed, another injured in Pelham pedestrian-vehicle collision

PELHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Pelham Police say that one juvenile was killed and another injured in a pedestrian-vehicle collision Tuesday evening.

Police say they responded to a call of a pedestrian hit around 6:06 p.m. at the intersection of Cahaba Valley Road and Cahaba Valley Parkway.

When emergency personnel arrived they learned that two juvenile males had been struck by a pickup truck.

Officers say one of the juveniles passed away at the scene and the other was transported to the hospital for non life-threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup truck wasn't injured.

Montgomery Public Schools confirms to sister station WSFA that the juveniles were Lee High School students. MPS officials say the students were on a field trip in north Alabama and were returning to Montgomery. The students were on a dinner break, according to MPS.

No other information about the victims has been released.
