The Cheesecake Factory fails health inspection

Less than two months after opening at a new location, The Cheesecake Factory at the Mall of Georgia failed a surprise health inspection with 50 points and a "U" on Jan. 22. The restaurant is located at 3333 Buford Dr. in Gwinnett County.

The report says several employees changed gloves while working with food and did not wash their hands. There were also at least 10 cans of dented food in the storage area. Inspectors even found clean pans that had old food debris on them. Plus, raw salmon was stored above cooked crab dip.

The health inspection noted several food items, like cooked onions, that were not within a proper temperature range.

The Gwinnett County Environmental Health Department told CBS Atlanta News that The Cheesecake Factory will be re-inspected with in 10 days.

The restaurant passed the follow up inspection on Jan. 24 with a 76 (C).  Click here for the updated inspection.

Our guests can be assured that our food is safe and of the highest quality, and that we have taken immediate action to correct any deficiencies identified during the recent inspection." - Jack Belk, Sr. Regional Vice President
