HOPKINSVILLE, KY (WSMV) -

A Hopkinsville man has died after the vehicle he was driving collided into a moving train Friday afternoon in Christian County.

Hopkinsville police say 24-year-old Justin Johnson died after his SUV overturned and he was ejected in the collision with the CSX train, which was reported about 1:30 p.m. near Old Concord Lane.

Investigators say Johnson didn't stop at the railroad crossing, which had working signals at the time, according to witnesses.

The train's conductor said it didn't appear Johnson made any attempt to slow down or stop before the crash.

Johnson was the only person in the vehicle, police said.
