Authorities say a 24-year-old man is expected to survive after being shot in the chest in Tuscaloosa Thursday night.
The victim told officers he was shot on 20th Street in Tuscaloosa. He arrived at DCH to be treated for a gunshot wound to his chest under his left arm around 11:15 p.m. Jan. 9.
He was in surgery around 8:30 a.m. Friday and is expected to survive, according to Sgt. Dale Phillips with the Tuscaloosa Metro Homicide Unit.
Sgt. Phillips says the motive for the shooting is unknown. There are no suspects in custody at this time, he said. Tuscaloosa police and the Metro Homicide Unit are investigating.
