BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

It may be hard to believe but some businesses are happy to see cold weather.

Most people won't like these freezing temperatures but one landscaper says homeowners will when spring and summer arrive.

"For the last two winters, it's been so warm we've had an abundance of bugs," Jimmy Rockett said. "Lot of termites, fire ants, and Argentine ants."

Rockett believes the cold snap will take care of those annual pests.

"We're hoping that this 60 something hours of continuous weather is going to do something for that," he said.

And it's not just bugs. The cold can also eliminate some weeds if you're willing do to some trimming.

"Take the weed eater and cut the tops of your weeds," he said. "If you expose that crown...that's going to freeze that weed and it's going to kill it."

There are also those businesses who love cold weather. Coffee shops and firewood sellers have been busy as well as some restaurants.

Baker's Famous Pizza in Bluff Park has been flooded with calls from those who don't want to venture out for food.
