NORTHPORT, AL (WBRC) -

Three men suspected of invading a home in Northport and assaulting three people inside are on the loose, Tuscaloosa authorities report.

Three black males allegedly forced their way into a home in the 2000 block of Hunter Creek Road around 6 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1. The victims said the suspects demanded money from them, and pistol-whipped two of the people inside the home. A female resident said one of the suspects also sexually assaulted her.

The victims were treated at a local hospital for their injuries and were released.

Authorities say two of the suspects were short, around 5'5" and the other suspect is tall. The shorter suspects were wearing all black and the tall suspect word a dark-colored hoodie and tan pants, Lt. Kip Hart with the Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit said.

Authorities say the investigation is on-going. Investigators believe this was a random attack, adding that the victims say they don't know their attackers.
