Some Vanderbilt and University of Houston football players visited Children's of Alabama patients Wednesday ahead of the BBVA Compass Bowl.
The players brought some toys and shared some smiles with the children.
"It's hard to describe how much this means to us, to be able to come here to spend time with these children who have not necessarily been as lucky as us, there's no way I'd rather spend time anywhere than this," Ty Cummings said.
One young patient, C-Anna, was all smiles when the towering young men surprised her. Aline Arnold, appreciates how the players show some true heart.
"It's great that they want to even take the time, and just share their time, they're so busy so, this is nice," she said.
