1 dead, another injured in Jackson Co. wreck

JACKSON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

One man died and another person was injured in a single-vehicle wreck in Jackson County early Wednesday morning.

According to Alabama State Troopers, Billy Charles Ferguson, 24, of Henagar, died following his injuries in a wreck that happened around 1:15 a.m. on County Road 67.

A passenger in the vehicle, whose name was not disclosed, was injured in the wreck, according to authorities. The person was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The trooper said Ferguson was driving a 2011 Toyota when he wrecked the vehicle.

The cause of the wreck is still under investigation.
