Time running out to make holiday donations

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Time is running out to make a last-minute donation to get a tax write-off for 2013. That makes for a busy day for places like The Salvation Army and Goodwill.

The Salvation Army drop off had extra staff working on Monday to handle all of the donations.

Truck after truck showed up Monday full of items, from furniture to clothes to electronics. In fact, a few people with larger items were turned away because there wasn't enough room for their donated items. Those dropping off items grabbed a tax write-off form and pen to mark down what they gave away.

Tuesday is the last day to claim those write-offs for 2013. While it may not save you a ton of money, every little bit adds up.
