KSLA News 12 Editorial: Dec. 25th-Time to Give Thanks

Hello, my name is David Tinkis and I am the president & CEO at Goodwill Industries of North Louisiana. As our community once again celebrates the holidays, I would like to express to you what Goodwill is thankful for.

We are thankful that more than 7,000 people were able to receive employment and training services this year. We are thankful that more than 800 at risk youth were able to receive services to put them on the right path. We are thankful that over 1,000 people were placed into successful employment.

There are many other things we also are thankful for, but the one thing that stands above all is Goodwill is thankful for the generous and compassionate donors within our exceptional community.

Without the incredible support of the community, none of the services that Goodwill provides are possible.

We should all be thankful that we live in a special community with people who want a better life for each of us. On behalf of Goodwill Industries, merry Christmas to all of you and thank you again for sharing your blessings with others.

State Police Supt. Col. Mike Edmonson needs to address this inexcusable behavior directly and restore the public's confidence. He should be fully transparent in his investigation into the matter and should invite an outside entity to look into the matter.
