Tuscaloosa authorities have arrested a man believed to have been involved in a drug-related shooting in late November.
The shooting happened around 12:40 p.m. Nov. 29 in the 3200 block of Cordell Street. Two men, ages 18 and 21, fled from the scene and wrecked their car nearby in the 3000 block of Fosters Ferry Road.
The young men in the wrecked vehicle told investigators that two men in a white SUV opened fire at them, and they shot back before driving away and crashing. The incident appears to be drug-related, Sgt. Dale Phillips with the Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit said.
On Dec. 17, warrants were issued for one of the shooting suspects. Shadrell Matthews, 35, has been charged with attempted murder, robbery and shooting into an occupied building.
Matthews was arrested on Dec. 19 and booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail where he remains on a $150,000 bond.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and they expect to make more arrests.
