Toys for Tots campaign drop-off deadline is Tuesday

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - The last day to donate to the 2013 US Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots campaign in Horry County is Tuesday, December 17.

This program is designated to distribute new and unwrapped toys to needy children from 0-12 years old in Horry County.

 Drop boxes will be available at the following locations:

 -Carolina Forest Recreation Center, 2254 Carolina Forest Blvd, Myrtle Beach

 -Government & Justice Center, Atrium, 1301 Second Ave., Conway

 -Government & Justice Center, Register of Deed, 1301 Second Ave., Conway

 -J. Reuben Long Detention, 4150 J. Reuben Long Ave., Conway

 -James R. Frazier Community Center, 1370 Bucksport Rd., Conway

 -L.W. Paul Living History Farm, 2279 Harris Shortcut Rd., Conway

 -M.L. Brown Jr. Public Safety, Emergency Management, 2560 Main St., Conway

 -Museum, 805 Main St., Conway

 -Myrtle Beach International Airport, 1100 Jetport Rd., Myrtle Beach

 -North Strand Recreation, 120 Hwy 57 S, Little River

 -Public Works Facility, Engineering, 4401 Privetts Rd., Conway

 -South Strand Complex, Auditor's Office, 9630 Scipio Ln., Myrtle Beach

"The mission of Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is to assist the U. S. Marine Corps in providing a tangible sign of hope to economically disadvantaged children at Christmas. This assistance includes supporting the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program by raising funds to provide toys to supplement the collections of local Toys for Tots campaigns, to provide promotional and support material and defray the costs of conducting annual Toys for Tots campaigns. Other Foundation support includes providing administrative, advisory, financial, logistic and promotional support to local Toys for Tots Coordinators; managing funds raised and monies donated based on the use of Toys for Tots name or logo; providing other support the Marine Corps, as a federal agency, cannot provide; and conducting public education and information programs about Toys for Tots that call the general public to action in support of this patriotic community action program."
