Birmingham City Council to choose Maxine Parker's replacement

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

The Birmingham City Council will meet Tuesday to appoint someone to fill former District Four representative and council president Maxine Parker's seat.

Parker's son and former state representative William Parker is expected to be nominated. The council could nominate anyone who lives in that district.

Councilors will hold new elections for council president and president pro tem. Parker passed away earlier this month.
