MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A Marshall County grand jury indicted a man in connection with a fatal rollover wreck in Guntersville that killed four teens.

Adrian Michael Renteria was indicted on four counts of manslaughter, three counts of second-degree assault, and one count of criminal trespassing.

The wreck happened earlier in July on Highway 431 just north of Guntersville. A pickup truck carrying nine passengers, including several children, flipped on the side of the highway. Two people in another car involved in the wreck were not injured.

The driver of the truck, 19-year-old Jonryan Moore Lawson, of Albertville, was killed in the crash. A passenger in the bed of the truck, 21-year-old Blake Anthony Keener from Albertville, was also killed. Rita Maegan Elizabeth Cordell, 13, of Boaz, was a passenger in the cab of the truck and died of her injuries at the scene. Ruben Parker Pacheco, 18 of Albertville, was a passenger in the bed of the pickup and died from his injuries.

Renteria was previously charged with making a false statement to authorities shortly after the wreck.

"A grand jury returned an indictment, believing that recklessness occurred here, and it will be up to us to prove that to a jury," said Marshall County District Attorney Steve Marshall.

The mother of Rita Cordell said she was glad to see Renteria finally behind bars.

"She will never get to graduate. She will never get to go to college. She will never get to get married, have kids, all the stuff that we should all be able to have a chance to do. Plans that she had - he took all of that in a minute," said Cheryl Cordell.

Renteria is being held in the Marshall County Jail on more than $1-million bond.
