Relive the past at Christmas in the Country

LEIGHTON, AL (WAFF) -

The annual Christmas in the Country weekend will be hosted at LaGrange College Site Park on Nov. 23 and Nov. 24.

LaGrange College Site Park is located in east Colbert County, 8 miles southeast of Tuscumbia off of Highway 157, on LaGrange College Road.

This traditional and free family holiday event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Attendees can relive Christmases of the past while touring the park's authentic log buildings, all decorated for Christmas.

This weekend will feature free entertainment, free hayrides with Santa, homemade baked goods, arts and crafts sales and demonstrations, and living history.

    A three-vehicle crash on I-59 near mile marker 62 left one dead and another injured on Friday morning shortly after 9:30. 53-year-old Lovell Baldwin, Jr. of York was killed when his 1994 Honda Civic was struck by a 2013 Toyota Avalon driven by 30-year-old Daphne Violet Palmer of Tuscaloosa.  Baldwin was pronounced dead on the scene.
