The following is an editorial from FOX6 WBRC-TV General Manager Lou Kirchen, first aired on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013:
So, the new health care law. It seems like I've heard million of stories, second or third hand experiences and opinions about how it will or has already affected health care coverage in our country.
Now, I'd like to hear from you and your personal experience, just the facts not opinions please. That is, what impact has this new law had or not had on your life.
So, I'm asking you: Have you tried to go online to get coverage? Have you been successful? If you've gotten coverage, how long did it take you to get through the process? Was it easy or difficult?
Or, if you had health care coverage before the new law went to effect, has your existing coverage changed as a result…either in benefits or cost? If so, how has it changed?
If you've never had coverage, do you want it now? Will you get it willingly or grudgingly?
If your coverage is provided by your employer, do you know whether your coverage has or will change?
If you're a business owner and provide health care coverage for your employees, what effect has the law had on this benefit? What about the number of jobs in your company…will you hire more or less now because of the law?
Again, I'm asking because I want to hear about your personal experience. This time, for this editorial, no opinions, please…just the facts.
