River City Church takes part in Make a Difference Day

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The members of River City Church did their part on Make a Difference Day by hosting the 4th Saturday -- an event they would like to continue every month.

The event offered free health and dental screenings and gave out haircuts and emergency kits, all to make a difference in the community.

"We've had some of the local missions show up and they are taking part in the free hair cuts and giveaways," Mallory Martin said. "We had Earth Fare come and give out free snacks and so they're getting to have some of those and we have some ladies here in the prayer room just giving prayer for people who might need it."

The event today was from 9 a.m. to noon and the church hopes to put on the 4th Saturday event every month from here on out.
