Imagine walking in to your favorite golf clubhouse and finding out that you are the 10 millionth golfer.
That's exactly what happened to golfers who played at any on of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trails Wednesday.
Since the trail opened in 1992, ten millions rounds of golf have been played at its 11 locations across Alabama.
To celebrate the 10 millionth round, RTJ awarded every player a free round of golf worth $82. Golfers can use their voucher within six months.
The golf trail started as a means to boost tourism and the state's image. In 2012, the trail generated $10.6 billion for Alabama and was named the state's top attraction.
Golfers can also enjoy the $21 on 21 promotion through 2013. On the 21st day of each month, golfers can enjoy a round of golf for $21.
Reservations can be made within seven days of the desired play date and play is subject to availability. Golf cart fees are not included in the price. Ross Bridge offers a $21 discount off of rack rate on those days and Lakewood not included in this promotion. To make your reservation, visit http://www.rtjgolf.com/ and choose the course you'd like to play at.
