BLOUNT COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

The Blount County Sheriff's Department arrested a woman accused of drug trafficking after authorities say they intercepted a shipment of cocaine from Trinidad and Tobago.

Shavawn Leann Horton, 31, was arrested Friday at a home on Blackwood Bend Road in Cleveland. Horton is charged with drug trafficking, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

According to Blount County Sheriff Loyd Arrington, U.S. Customs and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security knew the drugs were coming, and those agencies asked Blount County to intercept the shipment.

The 1.27 lbs of cocaine has a street value of $60,000, according to Sheriff Arrington.
