The parking lot is full again at the Homeland Security Center for Domestic Preparedness in Anniston now that the government shutdown is over.
The training center is located at what used to be the Fort McClellan Army base. Spokesperson Lisa Hunter tells FOX6 News that the center had to cancel 15 classes due to the shutdown.
They expect a partial training week the last week of October and a full week beginning in November. She says the top priority will be rescheduling those cancelled classes. Hunter also says her co-workers kept in touch during the shutdown and are all happy to be back at work.
