Transcript: Saban looks ahead to Arkansas game

"I was really pleased with the way our guys responded and competed in the last game. I think they really answered the bell, in terms of the effort that we played with, the toughness that we played with, even though we have some things to clean up. Things didn't go well early in the game for us in terms of a few dropped balls, and we turned the ball over a couple times. We didn't have the kind of ball security we would like to have. I think the lesson to be learned there is if you compete well, and you just play the next play that sometimes you can miss a four foot putt and still win. And that's what I was really pleased with, the way our team kept playing in the game and really did a nice job on the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.

"Obviously, we have some things we need to clean up on defense. They had some plays opened for us, and we have to play with a little more consistency still in the back, and we will keep on working on that. I think the key thing for this team is to continue to try to create an identity for themselves in terms of the consistency that they can compete with.

"It's always great to come back home and play at home. I think Arkansas is one of the most challenging teams that we've played this year, especially in their ability to run the ball. Their offensive line does a great job. They have two really good running backs that have been very, very productive. It doesn't matter who their opponent has been and what they've tried to do, they have been able to run the ball effectively on each and every team that they've played. They are very capable of making plays in the passing game so this is very, very challenging. Their defense has been very opportunistic in terms of the way they've created negative plays, pressured the quarterback, and gotten sacks. They have very good specialists – punter, kicker, who do a good job on special teams.

"I think Bret (Bielema) has really done a good job there of getting those guys to play hard and compete, and play with a lot of toughness. He's been a very successful coach. We have a tremendous amount of respect for him and the staff that they have. This is certainly going to be our biggest test that we've had in terms of some of the challenges that they present to us."
